Invisalign

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a type of brace used in orthodontic treatment to repair the teeth and permit orthodontic adjustments to be performed by gradually shifting the teeth. It is made of clear flexible materials, unlike the regular braces made of metal.

Each transparent aligner in this kind of treatment moves your teeth incrementally toward the final position.

What is it used for?

The Invisalign is used for many purposes like fixing uneven smiles and crowded teeth, as well as occlusion and the gaps between the teeth.

It is also used for beautification reasons to give the patient a straight smile.

 How does it work?

The Invisalign has a specific method that should be followed by a specialized orthodontist.

The orthodontist will take a 3D picture of your mouth – upper and lower jaw- to have an image of your teeth’ structure.

After that, he will set a treatment plan to move your teeth incrementally toward the right position by creating a series of plastic aligners that fits your case.

Your teeth will start moving according to the plan, and you will have to switch aligners according to the orthodontist guides.

You need to wear the Invisalign for at least 20 hours a day, and you have to remove it if you are going to eat, drink or brush your teeth.

How to take care of it?

Cleaning the Invisalign is very important:

  • Rinse it every day with water and a soft-bristled toothbrush.
  • Avoid using hot water while cleaning.
  • Clean it twice a day for better hygiene.
  • Use Invisalign cleaning crystals.

Advantages of wearing Invisalign:

  • Invisalign is moveable and flexible, and easy to remove.
  • Un-noticeable, and it is barely seen.
  • It keeps your natural teeth clean since you can remove them.
